Speedy Nepal and Hike on Travels owners along with the staffs planned the Darjeeling Sikkim tour package from Nepal as an annual excursion program. Yearly, our organization organizes such excursion and programmes for our staffs to enhance the creativity and to boost einthusiasm in working environment.
First Day of Darjeeling Sikkim Tour package: Kathmandu to Bhadrapur Jhapa by Flight, Bhadrapur To Darjeeling Drive Via Siliguri
This January, The staff of hike on travels and trek went on an incredible journey to Darjeeling and Sikkim. The Darjeeling Sikkim Tour Journey set right off from the Tribhuvan International airport in Kathmandu. A 45- minute flight and we landed on Bhadrapur Airport in Jhapa. We then took the bolero to Siliguri. In Siliguri, we had the worst experience with a local travel agency guy who told us that we have to book the hotel in advance while travelling to Darjeeling. However, on continuing the journey to Darjeeling we got the hotel in Chaurasa in Darjeeling. Thanks to the local people who helped us with the information in the Siliguri. Siliguri to Darjeeling was a 4 hours ride.
Second Day: Darjeeling to Sikkim
The next morning, we woke up at 4:30 am and we went to Tiger Hill for the morning sunrise. It took around 45 minutes for us to reach the top of the hill. The Sunrise view from the Tiger hill was amazing and we enjoyed the moment sipping the cup of tea provided to us by the local women “Anita Didi”. We found a guy from Kathmandu and we drove together with him to Sedup Choiling Boudha Gompa.
Spending some time in Sedup Choiling Boudha Gompa, we continue our journey in our Darjeeling Sikkim Tour. We drove for about 5 hours and reached Sikkim. En route, we followed the highway that runs right beside the Tista River. This river carries an historical importance as an Indo-Nepal border of the greater Nepal. The highway divided into two ways one to Sikkim and other to Bhutan. On the way, we have a scenic drive through the highway just above the Kalimpong village. Likewise, en route we went through Syndicate- the place on Bipul Chhetri popular song “Syndicate”.
The major thing to take in consideration is that we need to fill the form in Tourism and civil aviation department of Sikkim with the proper national identification card to verify ourselves as a tourist. Without the registration, not single hotels will let us check-in.
At Sikkim, we went on sightseeing around the major town of Sikkim. And In the night we had an incredible dinner in Nepali hotel in Sikkim. However, for an overnight stay, we choose a local hotel in Sikkim. After that, we went to the casino to explore around. During midnight, we returned back to our hotel for overnight stay.
Third-Day: Drive Back to Darjeeling
On our third day of Darjeeling Sikkim Tour Package, we drive back to Darjeeling once again through the same route. On reaching Darjeeling we went on sightseeing of other popular places in Darjeeling. We visited Zoological park, Nightingale Park, Tea trail to happy valley tea state and mountaineering academy. We stayed overnight in the hotel in Darjeeling.
Fourth Day: Darjeeling to Kanyam, Illam Via Pashpuatinagar
On the fourth day, we drive to Pashupatinagar. We then drive to Shree Antu Hill in Illam. This place is one of the best viewpoints for sunrise and sunset. This is located in the height of 1,037m above sea level. We can get the view of mount Kanchenjunga, high hills of Taplejung, Darjeeling and many other places around. We got the call from flight connection that our plane went grounded and our flight got cancelled.
So, we got some spare time on Shree Antu. So we enjoyed boating and horse riding as well. Likewise, we had an amazing local recipe of Fapar (Buckwheat) and local tea at Shree Antu.
Later we drive to Kanyama and stayed overnight in Kanyam. We have an amazing experience in a musical program in a hotel in Kanyam.
Fifth Day: Kanyam to Biratnagar via Jhapa, Overnight stay at Dharan
We drove down to Biratnagar from Kanyam via Jhapa. On reaching Biratnagar, our plane got delayed so went on a drive to explore Dharan. We had an amazing overnight stay at Dharan. We joined the local music program as well.
Sixth Day: Drive from Dharan to Biratnagar and fly back to Kathmandu
On our final day, we drove to Bhedetar. The view from the Bhedetar was amazing. We enjoyed the panorama and danced together with music. After that, we drove back to Biratnagar and board on a flight to Kathmandu. On reaching Kathmandu, we concluded our amazing Darjeeling Sikkim excursion tour.
