Now, they are considered one of the oldest tribes of Nepal ordinarily with roots tracing back to the ancient people of Mongolia.

This trek starts from Kathmandu, taking you all the way to Syabrubesi- the place from where the actual trial begins. Then, you will be trekking through Langtang valley collecting view of Himalayan landscapes and Mountains in Langtang Lirung range and exploring the way of life in this region. First, Tamang Heritage Trek starts with a 9 hours drive to Syabrubeshi. Then, the Tamang Heritage trekking Trail makes a circuit passing through Gatlang, Tatopani, Thuman, Briddhim and finally Syabrubeshi. Further, from Syabrubesi, taking a 9-hour bus back to Kathmandu will eventually end the trek. In the end, you will never regret accomplishing trek over the unique trail with an important heritage value.
Day 01: Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu and transfer to hotel:
You will possibly be arriving at any time in Kathmandu. Our representative will receive you with a warm welcome and help you get transferred to the hotel. Further trip details, plans, and programs will be provided to you. You will be staying overnight in Hotel.
Day 02: A full day for Kathmandu valley sightseeing:
You will be visiting UNESCO enlisted World Heritage sites in Kathmandu Valley and will explore Hindu and Buddhist culture Visiting Temples and monasteries. You will visit the heritage sites including Pashupatinath temple, Boudhanath stupa, Swayambhunath stupa and Kathmandu durbar square. These sites provide better insight into Nepal’s History, culture, and architecture of medieval times.
Day 03: Kathmandu to Syabru Besi (1550m): 8-9 Hours
From Kathmandu, you will be driving from to Syabru Besi by bus via Trisuli Bazar and Dhunche( popular town). You will be seeing beautiful Himalayan Landscape and scenery of White Mountains. The white mountains spotted during your trail are some minor peaks and Mt. Annapurna II along with Manasalu and Ganesh Himal. Syabru Besi is the place from where the actual trial begins.
Day 04: Trek from Syabrubesi to Gatlang (2200m): 5-6 Hours
From Syabrubesi, you will continue steep ascents until you reach Rongga Bhanjyang which takes about 3 hours. Then the trail descends until you reach Goljung village which takes about 45 minutes. You stop for the Lunch. Finally gentle ascend up will take you all the way to Traditional Tamang village in Gatlang. It takes about 5-6 hours to reach Gatlang. You will be staying overnight in Lodge.
Day 05: Gatlang to Tatopani (2607m): 6-7 Hours
From Gatlang, you will follow your trail down to Thangbuchet, by a lovely river. Then you will start ascending up all the way till you reach Tatopani. The name of village Tatopani is given as it consists of natural hot springs and Tatopani literally means ‘hot water’ in Nepali. You can enjoy taking shower on those hot springs which are believed to have a healing quality, and it will certainly ease away pains from the trek. You will be staying overnight in Lodge.
Day 06: Tatopani to Thuman (2400m): 6-7 Hours
From Tatopani, you will follow the trail that ascends all the way to Nagthali Danda- open grassland with amazing views of the Himalayas. You can stop for a while at the delightful Brimdang village then continue up to Nagthali Danda. After you reach Nagthali Danda you will stop for a masala chiya (tea), prepared by the gompa’s caretaker. Then, you will continue down to Thuman- Tamang village with friendly people who love to sing and dance. You can join in the dance as well. You will be staying overnight in Lodge.
Day 07: Thuman to Briddim (2345m): 5-6 Hours
From Thuman, you will start hiking along a falter section of trail and then descends all the way down to Timure. The trail follows a part of the old trade route to Tibet. Tibet is just three hours walk away. However, it’s not possible to walk across the border at the present time. Then you will follow the trail all the way to Briddim, another Tamang village, where you’ll stay in a local home for a truly unique experience. In due time, local houses provide all accommodation, lodgings, and food on a rotational basis. It takes about 5-6 hours to reach Briddim from Thuman. You will be staying overnight in Briddim.
Day 08: Briddim to Syabrubesi (1550m): 4-6 Hours
From Briddim, you will follow the trail gently descending through the Rhododendron Bushes all the way to Wangal which takes about 3 hours. Then you will continue your trek until reaching Syabrubesi. You can spend the rest of the day in Syabrubesi exploring the small town and you can buy handicrafts made by locals. You will be staying overnight in Syabrubesi.
Day 09: Return to Kathmandu (1300m): 8-9 Hours
From Syabrubesi, you will take a drive back to Kathmandu. On the way, you will be enjoying the mountain scenery and local terrains.
Day 10: Transfer to Tribhuvan international airport for your final flight departure:
Our airport representative will transport you to Kathmandu international airport 3 Hours before your flight schedule. You will be taking a great lifetime experience from Nepal and you will be recalling your moments in Nepal while leaving this paradise.
