Mardi Himal Trek is one of the shortest trekking routes in the Annapurna. In past, it used to be the off the beaten path trek in the region. However, with the popularity during the early years, now it’s definitely not an off the beaten trek as it used to be. Still, there is still a lesser number of people trekking in this region compared to that of Poonhill and ABC. Hence, it is one of the most popular short trekking in Nepal. The captivating rhododendron forests till the height of 3300m and out of a blue, this hike provides the astonishing perspective of Mardi Himal, Machhepuchre and Annapurna. 

The major starting point of Mardi Himal trek is Kande, Kaski is just 27 kilometres, an hour drive from Pokhara. Likewise, it lies 14 kilometres prior to Nayapul, the Starting point of most of the trekking routes in Annapurna Region like Ghorepani Poonhill Trek, Khopra Danda Trek and Annapurna Base Camp Trek. Best Time For Mardi Himal Trek

The best trekking season in Nepal falls under the months of September, October and November. Likewise, the months of March, April and May are also the best months for trekking in Nepal. Hence, the best time for Mardi Himal Trek is Spring and Autumn. The months between September to November and March to May are the best seasons.

Mardi Mountain Trek Permits

For all treks in Annapurna Sanctuary, we require ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Project) permit. In addition to that, the TIMS (Travel Information Management System) TIMS permit is mandatory for all trekking routes in Nepal. Hence, you will require ACAP and TIMS Permit for Mardi Himal Trek.

Mardi Himal Trek Cost

Mardi Mountain Trek cost comprises of the cost of TIMS and ACAP permits, Food and Accommodation during the trek, all ground transportation cost and the cost of the guide. Mardi Himal Trek Difficulty

Mardi Mountain Trek is moderately difficult trekking route in Annapurna Region. In comparison to Annapurna Base Camp trek, Mardi Mountain trek is less difficult and more difficult than Ghorepani Poon Hill trek. Mardi Mountain is 5587m high Himalayan peak in Annapurna Region just beneath the Machhapuchre Mountain. Detailed Itinenary

Mardi Himal Trek Itinerary

Day 01: Drive to Kande and trek to Pothana/Deurali (2,125m)

This is the first day of our preliminary. On this day, we will drive from Pokhara to Kande which will take around 60 minutes. Again, we trek to Pothana (or Deurali) from Kande. It will concede 3 to 4 hours to reach there. In the wake of coming there, we will register with the lodging to revive oneself. Only 5 inns are available in Pothana and 3 in Deurali. Day 02: Trek to Low Camp (3,150m)
