It is one of the most difficult treks in Nepal. High altitude and remote trekking make it more difficult. As we said it is a teahouse trek which means we only get very basic things during the trek. You need to bring most of the things yourself. Thus this trek is considered moderately challenging, making it accessible to a wide range of trekkers. The trail involves varied terrain, from well-maintained paths to rocky sections and gradual ascents. Altitude is a factor, but the trek is designed with acclimatization days to minimize risks. Trekkers need a reasonable level of fitness to navigate the daily trekking durations. While challenging, the reward is immense – panoramic views of iconic Himalayan peaks and the accomplishment of reaching Everest Base Camp. Proper preparation and acclimatization are key to ensuring a safe and enjoyable trekking experience.
Please note that from March to November, Lukla flights from Kathmandu are redirected to Ramechhap Airport due to congestion. During these months, a 4-5 hour drive to Manthali Airport is needed before flying to Lukla. From January to February and June to December, normal flights operate. Flight decisions depend on airlines, weather, and other factors. In case of delays, two options are available: take a helicopter from Kathmandu or extend the itinerary. Emergency funds may be used. Helicopter rides and extra days are not covered. If issues persist, alternate plans will be arranged with you. It is one of the most dangerous flights in the world.
